Generic Transportation and Cryogenic Gas Plant Process Flow Diagram

This document provides a process flow diagram for a generic transportation and cryogenic gas plant. It shows the stages of compression, transportation through pipelines at various pressures, optional treatment processes, and cryogenic processing. Key stages include initial compression to 170 PSI, further compression to 325 PSI for movement through the plant, compression to 825 PSI for high pressure transportation, amine treating for CO2 removal, dehydration using triethylene glycol (TEG) and molecular sieves, hydrocarbon recovery using heat exchange, refrigeration and expansion, and final compression to 300 PSI for outlet. Cryogenic processing requires very low water content achieved through molecular sieve dehydration.

water must be removed to a dew point of -150°F. Dehydration is accomplished by use of
molecular sieve adsorption beds. As is common practice for cryogenic gas plants propane
refrigeration provides much of the initial cooling. Propane refrigeration supplies 64% of the
plant cooling requirements. Fundamentals of Gas Processing, Sections 20.2.4 and 20.2.5.
