Tuckman's Stages Of Group Development

Introduction: The model describes inevitable and


necessary phases a team undergoes to grow, face
up to challenges, tackle problems, find solutions,
and deliver results.

Introspection: I identified myself as a person who


tries to resolves conflict and bring the entire
group on same page.

Future Point of Actions: I will try to take


initiatives while the group is in forming stage to
give a better structure on carrying out the
assigned task.
Observation Vs Perception
• Observation is being able to see things for what
they are, without any hype, emotions, or biases.

• Perception is seeing a situation from one’s own


perspective, which is often skewed with different
emotions and biases.

• Perception is a belief, you think it is there but you


can’t find it.

Introspection: I had no clear differentiation


between the two terms and often confused
perception as observation.

Alters Perception Future Point of Actions: I will try not to have a
stereotype views about someone or something
and try that my actions are not influenced by my
perception.

• The most important thing in a communication

• Verbal and non verbal plays an important role
in how people interact with each other
• EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION is less about
talking and more about listening

• So learn to read and influence people through
non verbal communications too.

Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)

The TKI is designed to measure a person's behavior in conflict


situations.
We can describe an individual's behavior along two dimensions:
a. assertiveness b. Cooperativeness

These two basic dimensions of behavior define five different modes:


1. Competing(Lion) is assertive and uncooperative
2. Accommodating(Chameleon) is unassertive and cooperative
3. Avoiding (Tortoise) is unassertive and uncooperative
4. Collaborating(Honey Bee) is both assertive and cooperative
5. Compromising is moderate in both assertiveness and
cooperativeness.
