GSM Based Home Automation: M.Tech (ECE) BY Aadil Rashid Bhat

This document describes a GSM-based home automation system created by Aadil Rashid Bhat for his M.Tech degree from Desh Bhagat University in Punjab. The system uses an Arduino Uno and GSM module to allow a user to control home appliances like lights and switches remotely by sending text messages with keywords to the GSM module. It provides steps for the system structure, block and circuit diagrams, and concludes the project provides a smart, efficient, and easy-to-use way to remotely control home appliances and save energy.

AUTOMATION

M.TECH

STRUCTURE

The structure of the ‘GSM Based Home

Automation’ we made is shown in these
steps,

The GSM module receives and acknowledges

the message containing keyword sent by the
user.

Arduino Uno compares the keywords in the

message with the desired keyword.

If the received keyword matches the desired

keyword then the Arduino acknowledges it
and send HIGH signal to the relay.

If the received keyword doesn’t match with

the desired keyword then the whole
operation stops there.

CONCLUSIONS
The main purpose of the project is to provide a smart and
efficient way to control our home appliances with the help of modern
communication technology. With the combination of Arduino and GSM
this project is not only a modern approach to next generation home
but also a very friendly and easy to use system. This project will give our
daily life a new dimension at the same time it will help us to save energy
