(1) An entrepreneur wants to produce toys P and Q using a machine that can operate for 15 hours per day. Toy P takes 6 minutes to produce and toy Q takes 5 minutes. (2) The production is subject to these constraints: (i) Total toys must exceed 40 units daily. (ii) Ratio of P to Q toys is at most 3:5. (3) The student is asked to (a) write inequalities satisfying the constraints, (b) construct a graph on a 2cm=20 toys scale showing the feasible region R, and (c) find the range of total daily sales if P toys sell for RM5 and Q toys for RM3.

An entrepreneur wants to produce two types of toys, P and Q


by using a machine. In a day, the machine produces x
number of toys P and y number of toys Q. The time required to
produce a type of P toy is 6 minutes and the time required to
produce a type of Q toy is 5 minutes.

Seorang usahawan ingin menghasilkan dua jenis mainan, P


dan Q dengan menggunakan sebuah mesin. Dalam sehari,
mesin itu menghasilkan x buah mainan jenis P dan y buah
mainan jenis Q. Masa yang diperlukan untuk menghasilkan
sebuah mainan jenis P ialah 6 minit dan masa yang diperlukan
untuk menghasilkan mainan jenis Q ialah 5 minit.
The production of the toys is based on the following
constraints:
Penghasilan mainan-mainan itu adalah berdasarkan
kepada kekangan berikut:

I: The total number of toys produced must be more than


40 units in a day.
Jumlah mainan yang dihasilkan mesti melebihi 40 unit
dalam sehari.
II: The machine can operate for only 15 hours a day.
Mesin itu boleh beroperasi hanya selama 15 jam sehari.
III : The ratio of the number of type P toys to the number of
type Q toys is at most 3:5.
Nisbah bilangan mainan jenis P kepada bilangan
mainan jenis Q ialah selebih-lebihnya 3:5.
a) Write three inequalities, other than 𝑥 ≥ 0 and 𝑦 ≥ 0 that
satisfy all the above constraints.

axes, construct and shade the region R
which satisfies all the above constraints.

c) Using the graph constructed in b), find the
range of total sales can be obtained if the
selling price of a type of P toys is RM5 and the
sellling price of a type of Q toy is RM3.

jika harga jualan sebuah mainan jenis P ialah
RM5 dan harga jualan sebuah mainan jenis Q
