ELECTRICAL IRON

• An electric Iron is a combination of heat and


pressure removes wrinkles. The principle of the
electric iron is that when current is passed
through a coil, the coil gets red hot and
transfers the heat to the base plate of the
electric iron through conduction.
THERMOSTAT

• The bimetallic strip is a simple element


which converts a temperature change into
mechanical displacement.
• The two metals should have a different
coefficient of expansion.
DRY IRON NOT HEATING ENOUGH

PROBLEM
• One of the most common
troubles with dry irons is iron
not heating enough. The causes
for this could be wrong
thermostat setting, problem
with electric connections,
problem with the power switch
SOLUTION
• Thus to resolve this problem, you first need to
check if you have made all the connections properly
and in accordance with the user manual. Check the
power switch, the plug and the thermostat as well.
• The thermostat is that element of an iron which
helps control the temperature and the mode
• So make sure you turn it to a reasonably higher
setting. Moreover, try changing the heating mode to
see whether the heat increases.

PROBLEM
• has a high danger level as aluminum was
used as a cheap substitute for copper in
earlier days and is no longer a safe option.
This is because corrosion takes place when
aluminum is in contact with copper and
when the connections loosen, it leads to
fires.
SOLUTION

• The solution for this issue is retrofitting a dielectric wire nut for aluminum wire
to copper connection in case of light fixtures. This helps in stopping corrosion
due to the grease in the nuts.

converter or charger, an AC adapter is an external
power supply used with devices that run on
batteries or have no other power source. AC
adapters help reduce the size of a laptop computer
by alleviating the need for a standard sized power
supply.
PROBLEM / SOLUTION

• The voltage is at a non-electrocutey level of around 12VAC it can be converted


into DC. The easiest and cheapest way to convert (also called rectify) AC to DC
is to use a single diode. A diode is a simple electronic 'valve' - it only lets current
flow one way. Since AC voltage cycles from positive to negative and we only
want positive, we can connect it up so that the circuit only receives the positive
halfof the AC cycle.
