MAIN ENTRANCE
• Entrance should be easy to locate and adequately
signposted
• Doors should be easily identifiable and contrast
visually with the surrounding walls
• Where glass doors are used, they should have
color strips or other corner marks
• There should be a landing of at least 1800mm *
1800mm immediately next to the door
• The floor texture immediately next to the door
should be different from the surrounding floor
texture
LOBBY
• The lobby should be leveled and split levels should be
avoided
• There should be adequate seating space with seats both
with and without arm rests
• It should have adequate circulation space for a guest on a
wheelchair, parents with a double pram or a person with
heavy luggage
• Any centre piece that may be used in the lobby should be
such that can be easily detected by a person with vision
impairments
• This can be achieved by making it contrast in color with the
flooring and detectable by a white cane and by having its
lower edge less than 300mm above the ground
RECEPTION
• Location of the reception should be such that it is
easily identifiable from the entrance
• The reception should be designed, so as to
accommodate both standing and sitting guests
• This can be achieved by providing a seated section that
is minimally 1500mm wide * 760mm high * 700mm
deep with a 750mm high knee recess
• The standing section should range from 950mm to
1100mm in height
• There should be a hearing enhancement system such
as a loop induction unit, the availability of which is
clearly indicated with a symbol at the reception
CORRIDORS
• Corridors should be level and unobstructed
• Minimum width of corridors should be 1500mm with
wheelchair turning spaces of 1800mm * 1800mm at
regular intervals
• Steps, where unavoidable, should be accompanied by
gentle sloping ramped access
• Consider installing a platform lift where providing a
gentle ramp may not be possible
• Incorporate adequate visual contrast between critical
surfaces i.e. walls should contrast in color and tone
from the floor and ceiling
• Floor finish should be non slippery and non glary

Air-conditioning / heating depends on climatic conditions &
architecture. Room temp. Should be between 20c % 28c

Abled
• At least one room for the differently abled guest
(The room shall have low height furniture, low peep hole,
cupboard with low clothe hangers, audible and visible (blinking
light) alarm system and door bell.)
• Bathroom
The minimum door width of such rooms & their bath room shall
be minimum 90 cm.
The almirah in differently abled rooms shall be sliding in cases
where no sufficient space is available for opening the almirah
doors by the differently abled person.
• Ramps with anti-slip floors at the entrance. Minimum door width
should be one meter to allow wheel chair access.
• Public Restrooms
the minimum door width of such public rest room (unisex) shall
be minimum 90 cm.
Food & Beverage(F&B)
• One Multi-cuisine Restaurant cum Coffee Shop open from 7
a.m. to 11 p.m. and 24 hr. Room Service.
