Method of Statement Bore Pile Foundation

There are three main methods for bore pile foundations: (1) The dry method is used above the water table using drilling without casing. (2) The wet method uses a bentonite or polymer solution inside the borehole when drilling below the water table to prevent cave-ins. (3) The casing method uses a steel casing pipe when drilling in loose soils prone to cave-ins, like clean sand below the water table. The process involves preparatory work like site clearing, drilling the boreholes, installing rebar cages and tremie pipes, and then continuously casting concrete into the boreholes until full.

Method of Statement

“Pipe Support Type 3

(Bore Pile Foundation)”

Method of Statement of Bore Pile
Foundation

1. Dry Method

2. Wet Method

3. Casing Method
1. Dry Method

The dry method is suitable for use on soil above the groundwater level
when the drill holes are not landslides, such as homogeneous rigid clay.

The dry method can be carried out on soil under the groundwater
table, if the soil has a low permeability, so when drilled, water does
not enter the drill hole when the hole is open

In a dry method, the holes are made using a drill machine without
a protective pipe without casing

The bottom of the drill hole is dirty by the clearance of the soil is
cleaned, the reinforced strands are inserted into the borehole and then
casted
2. Wet Method
Wet method is generally done when drilling passes water table, so the drill
hole always avalanche if the wall is not retained.

In order for the hole not to slide, inside the drill hole is filled with clay soil
solution or polymer solution, so the drilling is done in solution

If the desired depth has been reached, the drill holes are cleaned
and the embedded strands are inserted into the borehole which still
contains the bentonite liquid (Polymer)

The concrete mix is inserted into the borehole with the tremie tube, the
bentonite solution will be pushed and carried up by the concrete mix

The solution coming out of the drill hole, accommodated and can be used
again for drilling at the next location.
3. Cassing Method
This method is used if the drill hole is very easy to landslide, for example the land location is
clean sand beneath the water table.

To hold the drill hole is not avalanche used steel pipe casing (Casing)

The installation of a sheath pipe into the borehole is accomplished by placing, shaking or
pressing the steel pipe to the specified depth.

Prior to penetrating the ground water surface the sheath pipe is inserted.

The soil inside the shell pipe is removed during excavation or after the casing to the desired
depth. Then the drill hole is cleaned and the coupled rebar is inserted into the sheath pipe

The concrete mixture is inserted into the hole (when hole preparation is used, the tremie pipe
is used for casting)

The sheath pipe is pulled up, but sometimes the pipe is left in place.
