    áAs a result, you feel thirsty and
    take in additional water to dilute

    áDrinking stops the stimulating of


    your thirst center almost
    immediately

    áhis is though to be due to the


    thirst centre responding to the
    stomach filling water
    { our blood will have a high
    water potential (it become
    more dilute)

    2 his is detected by the


    osmoreceptors in your
    hypothalamus and results
    in a decrease in the
    amount of ADH secreted
    by the pituitary
    ^ he decrease in the amount of ADH in
    the bloodstream results in the
    following:

    á Lack ADH makes the distal convoluted


    tubule and collecting duct less
    permeable to water

    á Less water is reabsorbed into the


    medulla

    á Larger quantities of dilute urine are


    produced
