Green Jobs Growth

• Over the next 18 months, green collar jobs are


expected to grow significantly in the U.S.

• Due to government investment in the American


Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Green
is in the forefront.

• The U.S. wants to drive the development of new


green jobs that pay well and cannot be
outsourced.
New Initiatives

• President Obama has committed to doubling


U.S. renewable energy by 2012, and plans to
invest $150 billion over 10 years toward the
nation’s clean energy economy.
• He expects these initiatives to create five
million new green jobs, and has made it a
priority to “ensure that American workers have
the skills and tools they need to pioneer the first
wave of green technologies that will be in high
demand throughout the world”.

The American Council on Education (ACE)


Academic Advisor provides academic advising
and planning to severely injured veterans and their
dependents at the Wounded Warrior Battalion-
West, Camp Pendleton. One of only two such
programs nation wide. The other is located at the
National Naval Medical Center Bethesda,
Maryland.
