The Ptrms-4.0 (Deneb) : Remote Monitoring System

The document describes the PTRMS-4.0 remote monitoring system (also called Deneb), which acts as the master device to collect data from various slave devices connected via RS485 and send it to a server via GPRS. It collects data, critical alarms, status reports, and logical alarms from devices like digital I/O boards, RFID readers, energy meters, access control systems, battery monitors, and fuel sensors. The master can remotely configure slaves and settings via SMS. New devices just require adding a configuration file.

Remote Monitoring System

About The Product

• This version of the RMS is basically dedicated for

the collection of the data from every slaves
connected to it, i.e. it is now master device of the
whole setup.

• Its main function is to collect data from all of the

devices and send it on our server by the mean of
GPRS link.
About The Product
• It send us the messages so that we can have
information about some critical alarms even
when GPRS link is down.

• It also send us the report packets and the

packet which contents the status of logical
alarms like PP-Battery low, High Temperature,
Low Fuel, Top up, Drain Out.
About The Product
• It communicates with all of the devices on
RS485.
• It gives a command on the 485 bus which is
connected with every devices. The command
consists of a device ID on its initial byte and
according to that ID the respective device will
give its response.
Main Features :
• It provides SMS feature to us so that even in the
link is down we will have the current status of
the site.
• It gives us the feature of Local storage so that
every data is stored and safe in any case.
• We can configure all of the slaves connected with
DENEB remotely.
• We can configure some settings of DENEB with
the help of SMS also.
Main Features :
• To add or to Remove any device from the 485 bus is
now very simple. The only thing which is required is
that the new device must supports the MODBUS
protocol.
• Just by adding its configuration file which contents its
settings we can plug a new device.
• It sends the data of every device after a regular
interval. If due to any change in the status of any
device packet a new event packet is generated and
instantly transmitted on server.
Slaves Connected with The Master:
• Digital Input Output Board (DIO).
• RF-ID (ASM).
• AC Energy Meter.
• Access Control System (ibutton-ACS).
• DC Energy Meter.
• Battery Monitoring System (BMS).
• Fuel Sensor.

Master’s (Deneb) Description (Front):
• Connect Antenna cable properly at RF antenna
Connector.
• Insert SIM in SIM socket.
• The Ethernet slot is used to connect the Deneb
with our PC/Lap top.
• With USB slot we can attach the CDMA modem
or ant USB device which is supported by Deneb.
• In MMC slot Micro SD card is inserted.

Master’s Description (Back side) :
• There is phone jack a connector for 12V
power supply.
• There is a Red colored LED which indicates the
power ON state of the Deneb.
• The RS-485 connector is basically used as the
communication connector. All of the
communication wire finally terminates on this
DB-9 Male connector.

DIO
• DB-9 Female connector is used to communicate the
DIO with Deneb. This output is given to a 232-485
converter which finally this o/p is connected to main
485-Bus .
• Its device ID is 52.
• This device gives the 24-digital alarms i/p and 8 digital
o/p. Also it senses the temperature and gives the
current room temperature reading.
• There is a bit of change in the hardware of the DIO.
Here we have to verify that the o/p of the Relay no. 1
must be N & NC instead of N & O.

Tags Of
RF-ID
RF-ID (AMS)

• This device is basically consist of active tags

which transmits their data after every
configured time interval Its device ID is 55.

• With the help of this module we can assure

the presence of any device in which the tag is
attached.
3. AC Energy Meter :
AC Energy Meter :
• This device is used to measure mainly R Y B
voltages and EB Energy and DG Energy.
• Its device ID is 17.
4. Access Control System :

I-Button And its Reader

Access Control System :
• This device controls the access of a person in
the shelter. Until the i-Button is applied the
door does not opens.

• Its device ID is 51.

5. DC Energy Meter :
DC Energy Meter :

• This device is basically used to measure DC

voltage, DC Current and DC energy.

• Its device ID is 01.

6. Battery Monitoring System :
Battery Monitoring System :
• Its main function is to monitor the status of
the battery of the site.
• It gives us the Charging and discharging
current needed by battery.
• Its device ID is 65.
7. Fuel Sensor :
Fuel Sensor :
• It senses the level of fuel.

• It also communicates on RS485.

• Its Device ID is 49.

8. Logical Packet
• This packet consists of the data like Fuel Top-
up and Drain-out, Low PP Battery alarm, High
temperature alarm, Low fuel alarm.
• Whenever the parameters of this packet
changes this packet is transmitted on the
server.
