The document discusses different types of triangles classified by their angles or sides. It describes acute, obtuse, right, equilateral, isosceles, and scalene triangles. Students will be divided into groups to create a poem, song, rap or poster explaining the characteristics of a particular type of triangle, including vocabulary terms and how to identify and measure the angles. The document also provides definitions for circumference, diameter, radius, and center angle related to circles.

What is an obtuse angle?

What is an acute angle?
What is a right angle?
What is a straight angle?

Draw them and estimate the angle.

Classifying Triangles by Their Angles

- Acute triangle: all angles are acute

(less than 90 degrees)

- Obtuse triangle: has one obtuse

angle (greater than 90 degrees)

- Right triangle: has one right angle

(equal to 90 degrees)
Classifying Triangles by Their Sides
- Equilateral triangle: all sides are

the same length (equilateral= equal)

- Isosceles triangle: two sides are the

same length

- Scalene triangle: all sides are

different lengths
You will be divided into groups of 4 and assigned a type
of triangle.
You must create a poem, song, rap, poster, or use any
other creative method to explain what you know about
the triangle.
EVERY GROUP MEMBER MUST CONTRIBUTE.
Things to include:
- vocabulary; congruent, sides, angles, 90 degrees, 180
degrees, protractor, measurement, angle ABC, vertex,
estimate, base line, intervals, 3-sided polygon, etc.
- How to measure the angles.
- How can you tell what kind of triangle it is just by
looking at it?
- Components that make up the triangle.
CIRCLES
Circumference: the perimeter of a circle, or the
measurement of its edge. It is about 3 times greater than
the radius.

Diameter: is a line segment that connects 2 points on a circle

by passing through the center. The diameter is 2 times
greater than the length of the radius.

Radius: is a line segment that joins the centre to any point

on the circle.

Center angle: an angle with a vertex that lands at the center

of a circle. Its sides are formed by 2 radii within the
circle.
