CPEC is a mega program of this century, to have huge impact on geo-


economics of the region.
CPEC provides shortest route to China to reach markets of Middle East,
Africa & Europe, with multiple advantages to Pakistan
The karakoram highway(kkh) was started in 1959 and was completed
in 1979 (open to the public since 1986 ). It connects China's Xinjiang
region with Pakistan's GilgitBaltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions

First proposed by chinese PM Li-Keqiang & Pakistani PM Nawaz


Sharif in 2013.
On 20 April 2015, Pakistan and China signed an agreement to
commence work on the $46 billion agreement.
The ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an under
construction $46 billion mega project which is aimed to upgrade
and expand Pakistani infrastructure.
CPEC will eventually link the Pakistani city of Gwadar Port in
southwestern to Chinas northwestern autonomous region of
Xinjiang via a vast network of highways and railways.
