In the early 1980s, the Indian Government decided to
produce a small car, which would be within the
buying reach of the Indian middle class.
 Maruti Udyog limited established in 1981.First
production commenced in 1983 Gurgaon,
On 17th September,2007 Maruti Udyog was renamed
to Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
It is subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of
Japan.
