Sampling in Power System Protection

Sampling is used in power system protection to convert analog signals to discrete digital values. The sampling rate must be at least twice the highest frequency component of the input signal according to the sampling theorem. There are different sampling schemes such as non-simultaneous and simultaneous sampling that involve sampling multiple signals at once or separately.
