Very simply, a manager is


accountable for the performance
of others. Instead of working alone,
managers spend most of their time
planning, staffing, directing and
organizing the work of others.
They focus on resource allocation,
goal setting and performance appraisal.

Managers may be responsible for the employees in a
department or division, they may have direct reports, or
they may lead a project or a cross-functional team with no
direct reporting relationships.

There is no doubt that managers are trained. A person learns


from his experiences, he is not born with such knowledge.

Yes, most of the decisions are taken by a committee of four


members headed by the E.D. (Executive Director) of
which I am a part and the decisions are taken after due
deliberation. We only take decisions related to
investments.

3) Do you work in teams? What kind of human relation


skills are required for your job?

There is no team work in my job, every individual is a


profit unit and at the end of the how much profit has
each unit brought is calculated. There is no co operation
type of thing.

Yes, I lead a team of thirty two members. Since I am a
marketing guy I need to interact with customers at the same
time at same time I have to interact with my subordinates.

 The responsibility of management is to begin with a good


plan that will help in setting goal, organize and to ensure
that everything is in place for implantation.

 A manager is someone who continually steps forward with


solutions to problems.

continually better organizational performance.
