Pharmacokinetics
Course Code: PM417
Pre-Requisite to: Dispensing and Medication counseling, hospital internship,
research and thesis writing, clinical toxicology
Credit units: 3 units
Course Description: The course deals with the basic principles and factors
affecting drug liberation, absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion,
including the appropriate mathematical models that describe drug behavior in
the body both normal and altered physiology states which are necessary for
the design of a rational dosage regimen.

Classroom Policies
1. Any student who comes into class after the prayer up until
15 minutes after the class time will be marked LATE.
2. Three (3) cumulative LATE is considered as one (1)
absence.
3. Any student who arrived more than 15 minutes will be
marked ABSENT. He/She may be allowed to enter the
class in the discretion of the faculty member.
Classroom Policies
4. Any student who is marked ABSENT due to the situation stipulated in the
previous item may be given the chance to take any activity/quiz in the
discretion of the faculty member. However, the student will not be given any
extension on the time allotment for the activity and/or quiz.
5. Any student who is marked ABSENT for a total of 20% of the entire amount of
class meeting for a semester shall be dropped from the class list.
6. A student who was absent during an activity, quiz, and/or exam may be given
consideration provided that the reason for the absence is valid, e.g. illness,
death of family member, and/or inclusion in wedding sponsors, supported
with documents.
7. Special consideration due to absence can only be given once in the entire
semester, i.e. one (1) quiz, and/or one (1) exam.
Classroom Behavior
1. Everyone should participate in any activity and/or discussion.
2. Students are not allowed to use any gadgets that includes, but not
limited to, cellphones, tablets, voice or video recorders. Laptops
may be used only when necessary in the activity.
3. Students are required to have a copy of the textbook used in the
subject and should be brought in class.
4. Students are strongly advised to jot down notes, ask questions, and
read their books along the discussion.
Classroom Behavior
4. During written assessments, i.e. seat works, home works, quizzes, return
demonstration, practical and written examinations, utmost degree of honesty
is required from students. Any form of CHEATING will not be tolerated.
5. Faculty members have the discretion on late submission of requirements in
class. Faculty members may give point deduction or accept papers for the
purpose of compliance only, i.e. grade not recorded.
6. Announcements regarding class activities and lectures will be made available
through the Adamson University Learning Management System (eLearning).
