PREGNANCY
Is the physical condition of a woman carrying
unborn offspring inside her body, from
fertilization to birth.
RELATED CONCERNS ON PREGNANCY *
a. Hyper nemesis gravid arum- is the presence of severe
and persistent vomiting, causing dehydration and weight
loss.
b. Pelvic Girdle Pain- presented by a series of sub groups
with different underlying pain drives from peripheral or
central nervous system.
c. High Blood Pressure- Pre-clampsia-gestational
hypertension
d. Deep Pain Thrombosis- in the second most cause of
maternal death in developed after bleeding.
e. Anemia- Too few red blood cells
f. Infection- Is caused by an increase immune tolerance in
pregnancy.
PRE-NATAL CARE
A type of preventive health care with the goal of providing
regular check-ups that allow doctors or midwives to treat and
prevent potential problems throughout the course of pregnancy
while promoting healthy styles that benefit both mother and
child.
During check-ups, women will receive medical information
over maternal psychological changes in pregnancy, biological
changes and pre-natal nutrition including pre-natal vitamins.

TRADITIONAL PRE-NATAL CARE


1. Monthly visits during the first two trimesters (week 1-28)
2. Fortnightly visits from 28th week to 36th week of pregnancy
3. Weekly visits after 36th week until delivery.
MATERNAL NUTRITION
Plays a critical role in fetal development.
Determines birth weight outcomes.

NUTRITION
- Is perhaps the most influential non-genetic factor in
fetal development.
