Ebsco: Social Media Usage in European Libraries

The document summarizes the findings of a survey conducted by EBSCO on social media usage in European libraries. Over 1,200 responses were received from libraries of various types and sizes. The survey looked at current social media use, plans for future use, goals, challenges, and expectations regarding social media. Key findings include that 37% of respondents currently use social media, 48% plan to use it, and the top goals are exposure, image, and promoting content. Maintaining social media presences takes significant time and the main difficulties are lack of time, learning new tools, and low user interest.
