SCOPE of sewerage works
TO PREVENT ANY INFLOW OF UNTREATED WASTE (DRY WEATHER FLOW) INTO
THE AMANISHAH DRAIN BY INTERCEPTING AND CONVEYANCE TO STPs
To withdraw 50.0 MLD sewage from the existing outfall sewer in the area to
reduce the load on the existing outfall.
To treat the collected waste water and the sewage withdrawn from the outfall to
the standard laid down parameters ensuring no nuisance during treatment in the
area.
To deliver the treated effluent to suitable points within the proposed lined
section of the drain from Ch 5.1 km to Ch 34.8 km in a manner to ensure
continued water flow in the entire bed width within the drain section of
sufficient depth as stipulated and of quality appropriate to meet the class D of
CPHEEO standards for streams suitable for aquaculture.

AMANISHAH nallah
Amanishah Nallah is the MAJOR DRAIN OF JAIPUR CITY. This Nallah travels a
distance of about 47.5 KMs FROM THE ORIGIN POINT TO CONFLUENCE POINT OF
DHUND RIVER
Dravyawati river is the new name given to Amanishah Nallah which originates
from the hills of Nahargarh fort and TRAVELS THROUGH THE CITY OF JAIPUR
THROUGH THICKLY POPULATED RESIDENTIAL COLONIES.
Entire length of Nallah has been DIVIDED INTO DIFFERENT REACHES for
convenience
Clause 5.2.4 : The list of the observed locations where such waste water finds
entry in the drain have been given in Annexure 10 of the contract document.
TOTAL NO OF TRIBUTARY DRAINS are 81 nos
TOTAL FLOW is appx 152.937 MLD
Clause 5.2.15 : At some places there are FEW EXISTING RAIN WATER STREAMS,
WHICH ARE NOT CONNECTED TO NALLAH.
Clause 5.2.4 : The major portion of the dry weather flow collected flow under the
B2 by pass where it was measured as about 100 MLD
7
SEWERAGE network
Clause 5.2.4 : IDEALLY THERE SHOULD BE NO DRY WEATHER FLOW IN THE
DRAINS ENTERING THE AMANISHAH DRAIN and the waste water should be
collected through sewerage system and connected to a STP.
Clause 5.2.4 : There are areas which have been sewered and are TRANSFERRING
UNTREATED SEWAGE INTO THE TRIBUTARY DRAINS.
Clause 5.2.4 : Major part of the catchment has been sewered but still some areas
need to be sewered and new areas will also develop.
Providing of the SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN THE CATCHMENT AREA IS NOT A PART OF
THIS CONTRACT.

Clause 5.2.4 : Areas where SEWERAGE SYSTEM EXISTS with in a distance of 500 m
Clause 5.2.4 : Areas where SEWERAGE SYSTEM DOES NOT EXISTS with in a
distance of 500 m
EXPECTED DRY WEATHER FLOWS IN THE DRAINS HAS TO BE ESTIMATED FOR
NEXT 30 YEARS and the section of drain to be provided accordingly.
Clause 5.2.4.2 (I) : KUTCHA NALLAH (TRIBUTARY DRAINS) SHALL BE MADE PUCCA
under this contract upto 500 meters from Amanishah Nallah

INTERCEPTING chambers / storm water OUTFALL
Clause 5.2.4 : Intercepting Chambers shall be so designed that DURING
MONSOON when inflow is high, it ensures to TRAP BOTTOM FLOW FOR
CONVEYANCE TO INTERCEPTING PIPES and SURPLUS FLOW PASSES TO THE
AMANISHAH DRAIN in a proper stream lined inflow inlet.
Clause 5.2.4.2 (I) : COARSE SCREENS shall be provided to trap the floating
material specially during rains TO PROTECT AMANISHAH NALLAH FROM ANY
NUISANCE.

Clause 5.2.4 : It will be ensured that FLOW IN THE AMANISHAH DRAIN at that
point DOES NOT FLOW BACK INTO THE INLET Well try to keep I.L. of Storm
Water Pipe above HFL of Amanisha Nallah as possible and a Flap valve will be
provided near the outlets for preventing reverse flow.
Clause 5.2.4 : ARRANGEMENTS FOR CLEANING THE TRAPPED FLOATING
MATERIAL will be provided.

SEWERAGE NETWORK
Clause 5.2.4 : OUTLETS OF COLONY SEWERAGE NETWORKS that are now
discharging into tributary drains WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERCEPTING
PIPES to carry the dry weather flow to STPs.
Lifting stations, if required, will be provided to lift the sewerage from colony
sewerage networks to intercepting pipes.
Double Wall Corrugated HDPE Pipes proposed as per IS 16098 (part 2).
DWC Pipes are ABRASION RESISTANT, LIGHT IN WEIGHT but very STRONG, less
leakage and infiltration, Low Operational Cost, FLEXIBLE (and hence less brittle),
and have more ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT.
13
ADVANTAGES OF DWC PIPE
Clause 5.4.6 : All existing Kutcha rain water Nallah within a vicinity of 500 m from
the main Nallah are to be diverted to main Nallah and shall to be LINED IN
LENGTH OF 500 M AND A SCREEN IS TO BE PROVIDED AT THE ENTRY POINT.

AUTOMATION IN WORKING
ECONOMY IN DESIGN
HIGH END MATHEMATICAL LIBRARIES for faster problem solving such as Basic
Linear Algebra Subprograms (BLAS), Linear Algebra Package (LAPACK), INTEL
Math Kernel Library (MKL).
Using high-end programming we have been able to make EXCEL AND AUTOCAD
TALK TO EACH OTHER in many of our processes.
This STANDARIZES THE PROCESSES and so the OUTPUT BECOMES COMPANY
SPECIFIC RATHER THAN PERSON SPECIFIC.
27
ECONOMY IN DESIGN
Achieving ECONOMY in safe design is the ENDEVOUR OF EVERY CONSULTANT.
We keep very CLOSE WATCH ON THE STATS RELATED TO ECONOMY. Excel sheets
give the ESTIMATED QUANTITIES ALONG WITH THE DESIGN ON THE FLY.
Therefore, design engineers remain conscious of this aspect.
We can provide rough estimated quantities even before the drawings are ready.
This is possible because ESTIMATE FOR MOST OF THE COMPONENTS GET
GENERATED DIRECTLY FROM PRELIMINARY DESIGN.
