A Leader & A Manager
May I have one brave
soul in front to lead
our prayer?
May You Always Have an Angel by Your Side
May you always have an angel by your side,
watching out for you in all the things you do.
Reminding you to keep believing in brighter days,
finding ways for your wishes and dreams to come true.

Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun,

Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide.
May you always have love and comfort and courage,
And may you always have an angel by your side.

Someone there to catch you if you fall,

Encouraging your dreams,
Inspiring your happiness,
Holding your hand, and helping you through it all.
In all of our days, our lives are always changing,

your leaders?
Do you have what it
takes to be a good
leader?
How do others become leaders?

Through election
Through appointment
Through relatives and friends
As a form of rewards, gifts
And other more
Who wants to become a

What have you done so

good one?

impossible to predict who would

youth

health
brains
Let us check.

Who has these characteristics?

Can you survive the pressures
of time these days with all
these characteristics?
Can you be a good leader in the
future?
What is leadership?

is the process of influencing others to

behave in preferred ways to accomplish
organizational goals.

is the relationship in which one person

(the leader) influences others to work
together willingly on related tasks to attain
goals desired by the leader and/or group.
What and who is a leader?
"Leadership is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision
that is well communicated, building trust among colleagues,
and taking effective action to realize your own leadership
potential." Warren Bennis

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do

more and become more, you are a leader.
John Quincy Adams

Leadership is the art to of influencing and directing people in such

a way that will win their obedience, confidence, respect and
loyal cooperation in achieving common objectives.
U. S. Air Force
The superior leader gets things done with very
little motion. He imparts instruction not
through many words but through a few deeds.
He keeps informed about everything but
interferes hardly at all. He is a catalyst, and
though things would not get done well if he
weren't there, when they succeed, he takes no
credit. And because he takes no credit, credit
never leaves him.
Lao Tse, Tao Te Ching
Leadership is the capacity and
will to rally men and women to a
common purpose and the
character which inspires
confidence. (British Field Marshall
Bernard Montgomery)
A leader is a person who has
the ability to get others to do what
they dont want to do and like it.
(President Harry Truman)
Leadership is
influence.
(Fred Smith, an outstanding leader)
A person may have a
position of leadership, but if
he is not affecting the
thoughts and actions of
others, he is not a leader.
Leadership Principles:
Leadership is influence.

He who thinks he leads and has no

one following him is only talking a
walk.

The followers of a true leader confirm

his calling. He doesnt have to declare
his calling, others do it for him.
What are the criteria
to become a good
leader?
consistency
an ability to communicate
creativity in solving
problems
generosity
a sense of calling
A leader must be consistent
in three areas:

People builds security;

Principles provides
directions;
Projects builds morale.
The first key to greatness is
to be in reality what we
appear to be. (Socrates)
The moment people learn we are
not dependable or responsible is
the moment they will not
recognize our leadership.

ability to visually communicate their message

to people;
ability to make people know that he was in
control of all the situation;
to convey a strong belief in their people;
a very high trust factor;

solutions that will determine
the success or failure of each
difficulty;
to use the crisis as means or
opportunity for change.

The measure of a leader is not

the number of people who serve
him but the number of people he
serves.
Real leaders have something to
give, and they give it freely.
Great leaders are great givers.
Effective leaders are first
and foremost, servants.
To lead people effectively,
two things are involved:
- mentoring
- modeling
Called Leaders

Have a lasting quality;

Have the right answers
Stands out among others
Reproduce other called leaders
Relevant and speak to the
times and issues.
Leaders assets:
ability to instruct, to inspire and
to impact.
You motivate people through
attraction, never coercion;
through inspiration, not
intimidation.
LEADERSHIP IS NOT
about position or seniority
about your title
about your personal
attributes
management
We're all born with God-given
talents

But Talents does not equal

results.
Are ALL successful
people talented?

Nope-- they are not.

Are ALL unsuccessful people
untalented?

Nope, not true again.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU
KNOW who
just dont get the results they
deserve???
HOW MANY SUCCESSFUL
PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW WHO
SEEMS TO LACK TALENT???
THEYRE
EVERYWHERE!!!
TALENT WILL HELP....
YOU HAVE TO BE GOOD AT
SOMETHING.
TALENT IS A GIVEN.
BUT IT'S NOT ENOUGH.
SOMETHING ELSE IS
NEEDED...
TALENT IS NEVER ENOUGH.

HOW DO YOU RAISE
YOUR LID?
It starts with intentionality
Understand what leadership is
Understand that it is a lifelong
process
Understand you got to get into the
growth zone
Growth zone not in the
comfort zone
Its intentionality.
Its a contract with yourself;
Its an inside thing!
The perfect curriculum for
your growth
ARE the circumstances you
find yourself now.
You dont
have to go
anywhere to
grow.
You just have to opt-
in!
TRY TO CAPITALIZE ON
EVERY SITUATION!
EXTRACT THE LEARNING!
EXTRACT THE GROWTH!
Every interaction is an opportunity
f0r leadership and growth

When you accept this

awareness
you are well on your way to
raising your leadership lid
Do you want to become a better
badminton player?
You surround yourself with
better badminton players.
It's the same with leadership....

If you want to be
a better leader...
get around better
leaders.
Everything about learning
leadership is so easy to
understand.

It's difficult because of the

courage & authenticity
required.
So how do you start the
process?
stop trying to be something
you're not
stop wearing masks
stop focusing on false charisma
stop focusing on position &
title
WANT TO BECOME A LEADER?
