ER Diagrams

An entity relationship diagram describes data items and relationships between them. An entity is any tangible thing significant to the system, such as a customer or aircraft. Attributes describe properties of entities, like age or address. Relationships show how entities relate to each other, such as each manager being responsible for one department in a one-to-one relationship, or each employee working for one company but a company having multiple employees in a one-to-many relationship. Lecturers can teach multiple courses and courses can have multiple lecturers, representing a many-to-many relationship.
