Study and analyze the content of the
sections in the Education Act 1996 (Act 550).
State the implications of the sections to
pupils, teachers, schools, curriculum and the
National Education System.
Registration of Teachers
103 (1) Subject to subsection (2), no
person shall teach in an educational
institution unless he is registered as a
teacher under this Act
(2) Subsection (1) shall not apply:
(a) to a person who is a member of the
Education Service teaching in a
government or government-aided
educational institution
(b) to a person to whom a permit to
teach has been issued under 114; and
to a pupil in an educational institution
for the training of teachers established
Impication
Pupils
Pupils can get quality education.
Pupils potential can be developed.
Pupils can be shaped according to the current
educational needs.
Teacher
Society will have good impression on teachers.
Parents can believe on teachers credibility in teaching
their children.

School
Teachers who are capable can help the school to
achieve their vision and mission.
Can help in maintain the good name of the school

Curriculum
Teachers who are credible can help the government in
achieving their Curriculum goals highlighted under
National Educational Philosophy.
