What have you learnt about

technologies from the process of

constructing this product?
Whilst producing my student magazine I learnt how to do a variety of
things where technology is concerned.
I learnt how to keep a blog which included creating new posts,
updating previous ones and ordering the posts in chronological order.
This helped greatly with my time management as it acted as a visual
guide to the progress I was making and the remaining tasks I had to
complete.

I learnt that all software's had the option for

embedding presentations into our blogs, meaning it
allowed us to see it on the screen without the
hassle of using a hyperlink or opening another
window.

I learnt how to use the basic tools of

Photoshop; inserting images, cropping images
to make them fit to screen, making the
background transparent, including text of
different scales and how to combine layers.
This helped massively when it came to
actually producing the magazine although it
was quite difficult to start with.

I learnt how to transfer images from a

various number of platforms onto my
computer. These including cameras,
mobile phones, emails and via USB.

Finally I learnt about the suitable camera

settings, size and positioning needed for
specific parts of my magazine. For example,
cover images should always be portrait,
secondary images should be smaller than all
others and finally that for outdoor images
the camera should be set to landscape
mode whereas if I was using a person in my
image Id need to set it to portrait mode in
order to achieve the best lighting.
