Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the student

internship program whether to oneself, the

What is internship?
An internship is an opportunity to
integrate career related experience
into an undergraduate education by
participating in planned, supervised
work.
Characteristics of Internship
Contributes to the students personal and professional
development through challenging work assignments
Is completed before the student graduates from the university
Is planned and scheduled through consultation with the
department and college so as to fit into the undergraduate
experience
Involves a supervision component that is mentoring and
educational
Includes career related experiences that complement what is
learned in the classroom
Will have a reflection and evaluation process at the conclusion
of the internship
Builds upon the relationship the school has with employers
Is most successful when the student, the department/college,
and the employer all share responsibility in making it a
valuable experience

LIGHT OFFENSES
Wearing improper attire during the Interview
Not attending the scheduled interview
Late Submission of Internship Requirements
SANCTIONS
1st Offense Verbal Warning
2nd Offense Written Warning
3rd Offense Conference with Parents
SERIOUS OFFENSE
Habitual absenteeism/tardiness in
internship companies.
Stopped attending internship without prior
notice
Disrespect to manager, supervisor or any
employee of the company
Transferring to another company without
PCOs knowledge and approval
GRAVE OFFENSE
Robbery, thievery and acts of malicious
mischief involving company property or that
of the members of the employees and
guest.
Any act of unlawful, or otherwise criminal in
nature
Unethical or elicit relationship with any
employee in the internship company.
SANCTION
Students who commit offenses deemed
very serious by the Board of Discipline
will undergo disciplinary hearing
following due process.
