Grammar Translation Method

The grammar translation method focuses on translating texts word-for-word from the target language to the student's native language. The definition of Grammar


Translation Method
a method of teaching that commonly
used to teach grammar with the main
characteristics focuses on translation
and memorize verb forms, the teacher
usually explains the material by using
the local language when they are
teaching.

The grammar translation method has

These words are taken from the passage you
have just read. Some of them are review and
some others are new. Give Indonesian
translation for each of them. You may back refer
back to the reading passage.

Untuk mengingat pelajaran, siswa ditugaskan untuk:
Menulis terjemah dari teks yang telah dibaca.
Membuat sustu gambaran penggunaan direct object
dengan menggunakan two-words verb, dan
pengaplikasian pola tadi contuh-contoh kalimat yang
lainnya.
Siswa dipinta untuk menghapal present tense, past
tense, dan past participle dari irregular paradigm
verb yang mereka dapatkan dari teks.
Example:
Drink drank drunk sing sang
sung
Swim swam swum ring rang
rung
Siswa dipinta untuk menulis cerita tentang ambisi
mereka (siswa)
