Objective
To

understand the basic behaviour of

glass (brittle material), and to add to
the experimental data pool which will
be used in design in latter phases.
To carry out numerical and
experimental analysis of buckling
behavior structural glass panels due
to axial compression and in-plane
shear loading on square panels using
experimental results and nonlinear FE
formulation.

Scope
All

the three types

Square Panels
Approach
Loading

Methodology
Initial experiments will be carried
out on glass specimens to
understand the behavior of glass
and add to the experimental data
pool. Later experimental
investigation will be carried out on
buckling behavior of glass panels
subjected to axial compression and
in-plane shear. The buckling
behavior will also be evaluated by
a nonlinear finite element program.
