Inventory Data

Management in
SAP BI

Inventory Management
To monitor the Inventory Management and to

take any decisions on Inventory Controlling,

Management/Users need reports on Inventory
Management; basically they need complete
status/details of the all Materials i.e. from Raw
Materials to Finished Goods. I.e. In-Flow and OutFlow of the Materials in the Organization.
SAP Inventory Management system allows to
manage stocks on a quantity and value basis in
order to plan, enter, check goods movements
and carry out physical inventories.

Inventory Data Sources

Transactional DataSources for Inventory
Management/ Materials Management.
2LIS_03_BX : Stock Initialization for Inventory
Management.
2LIS_03_BF : Goods Movements From
Inventory Management.
2LIS_03_UM : Revaluations.

Inventory Data Sources in R/3

2LIS_03_BX - Material stock

The first Data Source (2LIS_03_BX) is used to extract an opening stock

balance on a detailed level (material, plant, storage location) at this
moment. "At this moment" is the point in time at which the statistical setup
ran for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX.
2LIS_03_BF - Material movements
This DataSource is used to extract the material movements into the BW
system. Material movements like goods receipts and goods issues are being
pulled using this extractor using MSEG table.
2LIS_03_UM Revaluations
The third of the above DataSources (2LIS_03_UM) contains data from
valuated revaluations in Financial Accounting (BSEG Table).

2LIS_03_BX DataSource
This DataSource is used to extract the stock data from MM

Inventory Management for initialization to a BW system

At this moment, opening stock is the operative stock in R/3.
Opening stock balance at detailed level of information
The DataSource only supports the update modes Full Upload
Restriction based on plat, material or storage location
Inventory management with non-cumulative key
figures
The reporting requirement is to report the historical stock
balances on a daily
The query-runtime is excellent. To reduce the data volume in
the fact table, it is better to use the non-cumulative key
figures.

2LIS_03_BF Datasource
This Datasource is used to extract the material

movement data from MM Inventory Management

(MM-IM) consistently to a BW system. A data record
belonging to extractor 2LIS_03_BF is defined in a
unique way using the key fields Material Document
Number (MBLNR), Material Document Year (MJAHR),
Set up of statistical data for material movement.
All historical material movements are to set up.
Helps to calculate historical stock values.
Restriction based on posting data/material number.
Can be started in parallel.

2LIS_03_UM Datasource
This Datasource is used to extract the

revaluation data from MM Inventory

Management (MM-IM) consistently to a BW
system.
Financial accounting, No logistics information
Only stock value changes not quantities.

Data Extraction for 2LIS_O3_BX

Run info package for data source 2LIS_03_BX to load to Info cube.
This extract will pull the stock initialization data.

Compress the request containing the opening

stock that was just uploaded. Make sure the "No
marker update" indicator is not set. This will
actually update the marker. The role of the
marker is a reference point.

Data extraction for 2LIS_03_BF

Loading the historical movements into the Info

Cube via the Datasource /Info Source 2LIS_03_BF.

Choose the upload mode "Initializing the delta
process
Init with Data transfer load

After successfully uploading the historical

material movements, the associated request has
to be compressed. You must make sure the "No
marker update "indicator is set. This is necessary
because the historical material movements are
already contained in the opening stock.

Data Extraction for 2LIS_03_UM

Init Delta (2LIS_03_BF) with data transfer.
Release Request with No Marker Update (Tick).

Compress with no marker update

After successful initialization, run the delta packages for

2LIS_03_BF & 2LIS_03_UM to extract the delta records.

Compress the request containing delta stock that was just
uploaded. Make sure the "No marker update" indicator is not
set. This will actually update the marker.

Cut Over Activities

Flush TRFC queues, run program RMBWV303.

Clear Delta Queue RSA7, run delta info packages in BW
Delete Set up table for inventory 03, T-code LBWG
Check whether following tables are empty
MC03BX0SETUP
MC03BF0SETUP
MC03UM0SETUP
Unlock Users in ECC system to avoid any postings during cutover
activities
Flush TRFC queues, run program RMBWV303.
Check no entries exist for MCEX03 ,T-code LBWQ
Clear Delta Queue RSA7, run delta info packages in BW
