Software
• Garage Band to record the podcast itself

• iTunes to convert it into an mp3

Recording
• Launch Garage Band.
• Select “New Podcast Episode.” 
• Save your podcast with a name and click create.  
• Select the voice track (male or female)
• Click the red record button 
• Hit the play button to stop recording 
• Highlight sections and delete them if they aren’t
needed.
Saving your recording as MP3
• In Garage Band click the share button in the Menu bar
• Click “Send Song to iTunes.”
• Go down to the pulldown that says "Compress using..." and click on
mp3 
- OR -
• In ITunes, click on iTunes at the top of the screen in the menu bar and
choose Preferences.  
• Go to Advanced.  
• Select importing.  
• Set to MP3 Encoder. 
• Click Ok.  
• Select podcast track, go to advanced and convert podcast to an MP3.  
• Podcast will be saved in iTunes folder as a file
• Embed podcast where ever you wish.

Software
• Download and install Audacity

• Download and install LAME

s=install&item=lame-mp3
• Insert microphone into computer
Recording
• Open Audacity.
• Start recording by pressing the red record button.
• Pause recording by pressing the blue pause button.
• Stop recording by pressing the yellow stop button.
• Click “File” then export as mp3 (you will need to download LAME to do
this).
• To edit, use Windows Media Player.
• When you are done with your movie, click on “Save to my computer” in
the “finish movie” area on the left of the screen.
• Open “QuickMediaConverter”.
• Click on the icon on the left that has a + sign on it.
• Click on the icon above that looks like and iPod (not the iPhone).
• Go to the bottom of the screen and click on the orange & green arrows.
