ABC Failure
Name of Feeder: 11KV ABC L.B College Satyawati Mkt. (KPM Zone 509)
Ambient Temperature: 31 C
Sp1: Max. Temp. 70.4C
Load: 90 Amps.
Nature of problem: Corona discharge on 11KV ABC Cable
Investigation: The metallic screens of ABC cable are not grounded at the end terminations.

Voltage Testing
DC-voltage tester
AC-voltage tester
(For test object with small capacitance)
Insulation Resistance Measurement:To Test of the ohmic resistance between two different
conductors (i.e. Phase to Earth & Phase to Phase)
For L.T Cables:- Phase to earth & Phase to phase to be
tested with 1KV Megger for 1min./ or till reading
stabilizes. Minimum IR value should be 50M.
For 11KV Cables:- Phase to earth & Phase to phase to
be tested with 2.5/5KV Megger for 1min./ or till
reading stabilizes. Minimum IR value should be
50M.
Insulation Resistance Measurement:For 33KV Cables:- Phase to earth & Phase to phase to
be tested with 2.5/5KV Megger for 1min./ or till
reading stabilizes. Minimum IR value should be
100M.
For 66KV Cables:- Phase to earth & Phase to phase to
be tested with 2.5/5KV Megger for 1min./ or till
reading stabilizes. Minimum IR value should be
500M.
