CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
3D Storage devices are the devices in
which we can store or record the 3
dimensional resolution.
In 3D optical device it is a sandwich like
structure of several layers of CD or DVD.
The system in which it has the multilayers
is called the HOLOGRAPHIC SYSTEM.
It lookes like a transparent DVD disk.
These disks can store the data upto
Terabytes.
Actual View Of Disk
How Optical Data Storage Works
• An optical drive uses reflected light to read or
write data.
• To store data, the disk's metal surface is
covered with tiny pits and flat spots, which
cause light to be reflected differently.
• When an optical drive shines light into a pit,
the light cannot be reflected back.
This represents a bit value of 0 (off). A land
reflects light back to its source, representing a
bit value of 1 (on).

Data Storage
It uses new ways of non-volatile reading and
writing.
It has non destructive readout of information
from 3.8 to 5 nanometer ferroelectric
molecule called an “atomic switch”.
Due to small size of ferroelectric transparent
structures makes it possible to holographic
storage.
For read/write process ferroelectric optical
media the internal geometry of the ferroelectric
molecule has to be change.
The concept of resonant absorption excitation by
UV light causing molecular dissociation and
simultaneous electric field application can be
used for writing 3D holographic volume data.
The single frequency creates many bright or dark
bands represented by 0 & 1.
The small size of ferroelectric transparent
structures makes it possible to fabricate nano-
optical devices.

Applications:
The new storage technology will greatly
increase memory capabilities.
Will be less expensive than the current
magnetic and optical technologies.
Multi-layering will enable the storage of
hundreds and thousands of gigabytes of
data on a standard disk.
People will be able to store up to 20 hours of
HDTV-quality video on one small disk.
