CURTAIN WALL
non structural ,outer covering of a building.
Basically constructed with light wt. Materials.
To provide ample amount of light into the interior
spaces.
does not carry anydead load weightfrom the
building other than its own dead load weight.
Material used mostly glass, stone veneer, metal
panels, louvers, fabric veneer, stone veneer, panels
etc.
Curtain Wall Systems are typically designed with
extruded aluminum members, although the first
curtain walls were made of steel.

GLASS
Most commonly used in structures.
first curtain walls were made with steelmullionand
the plate glass was attached to the mullions with
asbestos or fiberglass modified glazing compound.
Glass may be used which is
transperent, translucent or opaque, or in varying
degrees.
glasscan be of an almost infinite combination of
colour, thickness, andopacity.
Presently these glass curtain wall basically
supported on allumium sections.

JOINARY

ainly the joinery done with aluminium box sections which are joined with the help
angle sections by simple nailing method.
n between these glass panels silicone sealant is filled acting as a joinery materia
hesive.

Framework of aluminium supports the whole systems.

Glass
Thickness- 5- 6 m.m.
Prise- 65 rs./sq. Ft.
Toughened glass

Bottom rail with lock- 4000rs./m.

instead of steel section Aluminium offers the

unique advantage of being able to be easily
extruded into nearly any shape required for design
and aesthetic purposes.
For commercial construction, the two most
common thicknesses are 6mm monolithic and
1inch 25mminsulating glass.
Sometimes for better insulation double layer of
glass is provided with adequate air space for
insulation.
Curtain walls are also done with the help of spider
joints.

These spider joints

Hold two panels of glass
Side by side.

Sometimes four armed

Spider joints are also used
To hold four panels togethe

One way spider- 2800 rs./ pc .

Two way spider at 180 degree- 3500 rs./ pc
Two way spider at 90 degree- 3500 rs./ pc
Three way spider 4200 rs./ pc

ALUMINIUM COMPOSITE
PANELS
Aluminium Composite Panel Cladding (ACP)is a widelyused term, describing flat panels that consist of
thermoplastic core bonded between two aluminium
sheets.

frequently used for external cladding of buildings

(building facades).

it is very rigid and strong, despite of its light weight

various thickness.
Available in any colour, produced in a wide range of
metallic and non-metallic colours.
patterns that imitate other materials, such as wood or
marble.

ACP sheet are excellent in finish and are PVDF

coated which is up to 35 micron.
It can be bent, cut, drilled, punched and easily
shaped into complex shapes. Easy installation and
fabrication save cost and time periods of
construction.

ADVANTAGES
modern look and excellent flatness.
Light weight.
Sound insulation and pollution resistant.
Acid, alkali and salt spray resistant.
Smooth paint finish and stability of flatness.
Excellent UV characteristics.
Resistant to blow and breakage.
Minimizes vibration noise.
Heat insulation
Ease of installation and fabrication.
Easy maintenance.
Various colour choice.

Joinery of a.c.p. Sheets

Is similar to the glass
Curtains, on aluminium
Sections.
But the bevelled edges
Are provided for
fixing of sheets
From one another.

ACP sheets
Thickness- 4m.m.
Prise- 75-85 rs./sq.ft.
Pressure tap
450 rs. Per roll
Silicon sealant
250 per tube

CLADDING
Claddingis the application of one material over
another to provide a skin or layer on main wall .
Mainly done for aesthetic purposes
Provide waterproofing membrane on exposed
surface of building.
Mainly cladding is done in different material.
It is done in different materials-

Tile size -2ft.x1ft. (600m.m.x300m.m.)

Prise- 110 rs./sq.ft.

Mosaic tiles size300m.m.x150m.m.

Tile prise- 85- 120 /sq.ft.

Tile size-300m.m.x300m.m.
Tile prise-450 rs/sq.ft.

The joinery is done with adhesives or epox

Adhesives spread on net back of tile then
Paste it on wall.

Granite stone tile

Thickness- 12m.m. & 20 m.m.
Prise- 100-120 rs/sq. Ft. For 12 m.m. Th. , 180 250
rs./sq. Ft.
Cera tile
Thickness - 12m.m.
Prise - 85 rs/sq. Ft.
