- Large bank with over 200 branches island-wide
- Has been operating for over 100 years
- Ranked 3rd best in the country
The Vision:
To be the acknowledged leader and chosen partner in providing financial

Combining entrepreneurial spirit with empowered people and leading edge
technology to constantly exceed stakeholder expectations.

Planned Change - HNB


Planned Change HNB is undergoing - Redesigning the structure of
the organization
- Opening new branches
- Shifting employees to new locations
- Internal Recruitment for middle level positions
- External Recruitment for key Top management positions

Threat Cyber-Crime
The Bank operates using a computerized banking
system, custom made, linking all branches.
Individual / Illegal organization hacks into the banks
system, resulting in massive losses for the company.

In addition to the Structural Changes:
- Establish a new internal banking system or correct
deficiencies in the existing system (including Prototype
Testing)
-Engage in training of the employees in the new system
- Establish new policies, rules and procedures and
ensure its compliance
- Minimize the reputation loss

Threat Crash of Stock Market


Bank loses on investments in the Stock Market, and banks own
share value will fall
Customers lose on investments in the Stock Market
Many companies declare bankruptcy

Impact
Financial losses for the bank
Many customers withdraw their money out of the bank
Reduces the deposit base of the bank, resulting in a reduction in
lending
May result in the bank closing down

Effect on Planned Change


In addition to the Structural Changes:
Management of employees reactions and customer
reactions
Obtain employee participation, through communication
and co-operation
Create top level positions and recruit experts in the field
(right person for the right job)
Change the policies and procedures involved in investing
on financial markets (Introduce proper risk management
mechanisms, Set limits and hedge all investments)

Threat - Hostile Takeover


Sudden and hostile takeover of The bank by another company

Impact
Main impact is on the employees
- Change in organizational culture
- Complete restructuring of all organizational operations
- Redundancies
- Change in systems, policies, procedures, rules and
operations

Need to completely change the attitudes of the employees
