Commercial Banks and Entrepreneurship Development in Kerala-Strategies For Growth of Sme Business: A Comparative Study
SMEs are an important sector for employment and GDP growth in India. However, SMEs face challenges in accessing funds from commercial banks due to high interest rates, information opacity, and perceived risk. This study examines and compares strategies used by State Bank of India (SBI) and other banks in Kerala to promote SME business through lending schemes. Primary data will be collected through surveys of 25 SMEs in Thrissur and Palakad districts, and secondary data from bank reports and government sources will be analyzed to compare SBI and other banks' strategies, lending trends to SMEs over 10 years, terms and conditions of services, and SME satisfaction levels.

To examine the attitude of selected SMEs towards the implementation of various schemes by SBI and other selected commercial banks METHODOLOGY Data collection-
The study will be based on both primary and secondary data Primary data will be collected through sample survey from randomly selected 25 SMEs from Thrissur and Palakad districts.
The study will be specifically on those SMEs recognized by SBI and Small Industries Service Institute(SISI) Thrissur, Kerala.
The attitude of SMEs towards the different schemes implemented by selected banks will be assessed using scaling techniques and formulating satisfaction indices.
