Queen is a british rock band composed by:
Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bomi Bulsara): voice and piano
Brian May: solist guitar
John Deacon: bass guitar
Roger Taylor: drums
History At the beggining, the name of the group was Smile, but the singer(Tim Stafell) left the band. Then, Roger and Brian found Freddie. They wait to years because they have to finish their careers. Later, they look for a bass guitar and they found John. In 1972 they signed a contract with Trident studios and, from this moment, started the success of the band. Interesting facts The logo of the band was designed by Mercury. It consists of four animals, two fairies and a Q . The animals represent the following: -Brian May-Cancer, a crab. -Roger Taylor-Leo, a lion. -John Deacon Leo, a lion. -Freddie Mercury-Virgo, two fairies. -The fenix- phoenix is immortal, the group is immortal. Represents the zodiacal signs of the group.
Freddie became an illustrator and graphic designer, Brian studied astrophysics and became Astronomer for four years and also taught at Comprehensive School, Roger studied in a University of Dentistry and John Electronics. Queen became one of the bands to see live, his performance at the 1985 Live Aid concert (a benefic concert) was memorable and recognized worldwide. Although he was gay, Freddie Mercury was married with a girl (his best friend) and the song Love of my life was dedicated to her. Freddie was born in Zanzbar, Tanzania and when he was a child won a lot of championships of ping-pong and boxing. Mercury died in 1991 by SIDA and John Deacon is retired, but the band continues active.
