Hypertext, Hypermedia and Multimedia

Hypertext is text that contains links (hyperlinks) to other parts of the same or a different document. By clicking a hyperlink, the reader is taken to related information. Hypermedia is similar but can include links to various media like images, sound, video and animation in addition to text. Multimedia combines different media types like text, images, sound and video, and may be used for non-linear presentation of information. Examples of tools for creating multimedia include Camtasia for screencasting, Windows Movie Maker for video editing, and Photoshop for photo editing.

Hypertext is usually key words which may be found underlined

a box that replaces the initial page, to show the referent

document ( footnotes and annotations)
