Uid Seminar Presentation

This seminar presentation summarizes the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the Aadhar identification system. The key points are: 1) Aadhar was launched in 2010 to provide a unique identification number to all Indian residents through collecting basic demographic and biometric data like fingerprints and iris scans. 2) It aims to provide accessible identification for entitlement programs, prevent duplication, and enable services that require verification of identity. 3) The UIDAI issues a 12-digit number to establish identity and aims to enroll over 600 million Indians by 2014, collecting their photographs, iris scans, fingerprints, and addresses to guarantee non-duplication.
