1. Two characters: indicates that the bar code has 21 digits. 2. Eight characters: indicates the part number of an ODU.
3. Two characters: indicates the EMS code of a supplier. "10" represents Huawei, "6C" represents RBW, and "4G" represents Comba.
Note: RBW (6C) ODUs and Comba (4G) ODUs are purchased, and XMC (10) ODUs are manufactured by Huawei. 4. Two characters: indicates the production date. The first character represents year and the second character represents month. "A" represents number 10, "B" represents number 11, "C" represents number 12, and so on. For example, "91" represents January, 2009; "AB" represents November, 2010. 5. Six characters: indicates a serial number.

If an ODU not intentionally damaged is delivered within one year, the provider promises to provide a replacement for free. If the ODU is
delivered one year before but within two years, the provider repairs
the ODU for free. If the ODU is delivered two years before, the customer needs to pay for the repair.
The field engineers of Huawei must send out a faulty ODU within 70 days (subject to the date of the bill No.) after the provider sends out a replacement. Otherwise, the field engineers need to place a purchase order for the replacement provided by the provider.

REMEC Broadband Wireless International Inc (RBW) is a company in the USA. Replacements cannot be directly provided in some regions through a back-to-back process for the reason of USA trade restrictions. For the regions where replacements cannot be directly provided, field engineers of Huawei must state "back-to-back process is not applicable" when completing an SCM form, and the market coordination department directly supplements the field engineers with the replacements.

Process of Handling Faulty Purchased (RBW/Comba) ODUs That Fail in the Maintenance Phase
Field repair engineers need to hand faulty ODUs to the field service parts administrator and urge the field
service parts administrator to arrange for the repair as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the field service parts administrator requires the field engineers or the customer to complete a fault tag and a Service Parts Repair Request and pack the faulty ODUs correctly. The figure below shows the repair process of an outsourced microwave product.

Complete a workflow for the faulty ODU to be analyzed. For how to complete the
workflow, see the operation guide in the attachment below. Snapshot: Click:
After completing the workflow, the repair engineer must track the state of the workflow. After the R&D engineer confirms in the workflow that the faulty ODU can be returned for analysis, the repair engineer hands the ODU to be analyzed to the local service parts warehouse, notifies the service parts administrator of performing operations according the return process and the number for the pre-appointment workflow of the ODU. The repair engineer requires the service parts administrator to raise a forward request according to the quantity of workflows of the ODU to be analyzed and the ODU BOM to supplement the field with goods.
