Sample Problem 6
Add Valves to Valve Bank by clicking on the Add Button. The program will indicate when the required capacity has been met.
Remove Valves from the Valve Bank by clicking on the Remove Button.
Sample Problem 6
The first valve selected will have the same set pressure as entered in the above data. It is assumed to be the low set valve and can only be varied by changing above set pressure.
1) Other valves can have set pressures that are between the low set valve set pressure and 5% above MAWP. 2) If MAWP is not provided in above data, then it is assumed to be equal to the low set valves set pressure. 3) Over pressure percentage is automatically calculated assuming all valves have the same flowing pressure.
The program will display the percentage of rated flow for each selected valve.
Sample Problem 6
If an error occurs with the data, the program will 1) indicate no valves are available
Sample Problem 6
To configure all valves, the valve must be selected from the configuration tag dropdown box.
Even when several valves are to have identical configurations, each must be individually configured.

The TYCO PRVSIZE program does not support importing data from SafetySize. In order to get old information into the new program, the data must be manually entered into the new program.
SafetySize was developed with technology that is now obsolete. The technology would not support Windows Vista or Windows 7. Created problems when patched to operating systems. The installation was not very simple. In order to update the software to a newer technology, a complete re-write was required. At the same time, we took the opportunity to improve upon some functionality that is in SafetySize.
SafetySize is no longer supported. We recommend the download & installation of the TYCO PRVSIZE program.
The new software uses new Kb values for many models. The new software uses 0.65 for liquid discharge coefficient. The new software uses a better unit of measure conversion module.
A valve has not been selected. The TYCO PRVSIZE program will not allow a report to be printed if there is a configuration error.
Do I have to save and close a tag before starting to work on another tag?
No, multiple tags can be open at once, and they can be saved when the solution is incomplete.
The TYCO PRVSIZE program will continue to undergo development, and it is the desire of Tyco that the user base run a current version of the program.
Has the screen been maximized? The TYCO PRVSIZE program was optimized for specific screen setups. There are some screen configurations for which the software cannot compensate.
The TYCO PRVSIZE program has initially been written in English. A mechanism is in place that will allow the program to be made available in other languages. There are no established dates for making the program available in other languages.
Reaction force is a function of the diameter of the outlet flange. For all models, there are configuration options that must be selected before that diameter can be determined.
The configuration module of the TYCO PRVSIZE program has been written so that standard constructions will result without errors being generated. If the desired configuration is special, then the user should use the custom check boxes to enter that information.
The program has been purposely setup to not allow the user to modify the model number. A method has been established so that a special place holder is placed in the model number if a custom configuration is setup. The model number will also place an indication in the model number that it is special.
