The Three Elements of Computer System are:

Hardware Software Peopleware

HARDWARE
It refers to the physical and tangible components of the computer system.

Examples of Hardware:
Monitor Keyboard System Unit Speaker Webcam Headphones Printer

Software
Refers to the set of instruction as a computer uses to manipulate data, such a word processing programs or a video game.

Three Types of Software: 1. System Software 2. Application Software 3. Utility Software

1.System Software
It refers to the basic software that controls and access the computer.

Examples:: 1.MS DOS 2.Mac OSX 3.Windows 7 4.Windows Live 5.Windows XP 6.Linux 7.Unix

2. Application Software
This addresses the multitude of task for which people use computers.

EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE:


1. Microsoft Office 2. Mozilla Firefox 3. Skype 4. Yahoo Messenger 5. Google Chrome 6.Plants vs. Zombies 7. War Craft 8. Adobe Photoshop

- It refers to a program, such an editor or a debugger, designed to perform a particular function. - Utility refers to the software that solves narrow problems that are related to computer system.

Examples of Utility Software:


Virus Scanners or Anti Virus *Avira *Avast *McAfee *Norton *AVG

3.Peopleware/ user
- It refers to the people who are using the computer.
TYPES OF USER: 1. System Analyst do the system analysis and design. 2. Computer Programmer do the program development. 3. Computer Operator- the market
