The Question
The Internet can be a wonderful resource for you to use. You can use it to do research for school, communicate with teachers and other kids, and play online interactive games. As long as you are able to punch a few letters on the keyboard you can pretty much access the world. But that access can also pose some dangers that can make using the Internet unsafe.

After watching the videos and playing some interactive games, work with a partner to complete this Kidspiration activity. There are two columns; things you can do on the internet and things you cant do. Drag the pictures into the correct columns. Use the writing tool to write a sentence about 1 of the pictures explaining why you can or cant use it.

Next

Students will create a Wordle to create a poster about Internet safety. They will need to use at least 10 words. They will change the font and use colors to showcase the words. Use the rubric below to make sure that you get full credit for your Wordle. The Wordle will be printed out and displayed throughout the building to make other students aware of how to be safe while on the Internet.

Time Frame: 2 to 3 class periods that run 45 minutes Differentiation: Students are placed with a partner to help support struggling students. Additional time is given to complete assignment. Students can work with a partner to read the articles. Some of the articles have a read aloud option. Learning Styles: Visual Auditory Tactile Global

Notes to the teacher: Make sure that the students have headphones available to use.
