Most number of tourists is during the month of April and May. St. Gregory the Great Parish received most number of tourists during the time of holy week.

Classification (international, national, local, regional, and local) why?

The head officer of Majayjay Tourism Office is honest that state of their tourism industry is intended only for local and regional. She said that their facilities were not able to get the standard of a national and international destination.

St. Gregory the Great parish is one of the oldest churches in Laguna. The church was built in 1575. It has a giant antique bell reputed to be the oldest in the country. This destination gain tourist most probably during holy week. Most tourists came from Laguna. The officer told us that the church is one of the destination that Majayjay can be proud of. She said when you say Majayjay first thing you come in your mind is the church and the falls.

TayTay Falls it is located at barangay Gagalot and barangay Taytay. The falls is managed by barangay Taytay. They collect 20php. 5php for the government, 5php for the protectors or the maintenance. There is no tourist capacity and no time limit for stay. Barangay officials make a way to provide a space for the multiplying number of tourist. They were smart because they can give competent service even if they are fully loaded.

Market Analysis

A. Bargaining Power of Tourist

We asked one of the souvenir vendors in Taytay Falls Kuya sino madalas tumatawad sa inyo? Gaano katas yung gusto nilang ibawas? Then the vendor said, most of the time students are asking for a lower price. When they are asking they will say kuya tawad naman, estudyante naman kame e. then most of the time students wants a 30% discount for the price.

B. Bargaining Power of Supplier

According to the souvenir vendor, he gets the materials in different provinces like Cebu, Batangas, and Laguna. Then he is the one who makes and produces the souvenirs like key chains, pipes, necklaces and more.

C. Rivalry of the direct competitors

Taytay falls vs. Dalitiwan Resort Taytay falls is cheaper because it is government owned while Dalitiwan Resort is a private property. Taytay Falls vs. Pagsanjan Falls Aside from Taytay Falls, Pagsanjan Falls is also one of the most visited natural attractions in Laguna. Pagsanjan Falls is more accessible than Taytay Falls therefore it is considered as a competitor of Taytay Falls.

D. Threat of Substitute or Alternative Destination

The substitute destination will be the municipality of Pagsanjan. This will be the biggest and the most efficient substitute destination of Majayjay. The famous Pagsanjan falls can be found here thats why it became an alternative destination for Taytay known for Taytay Falls. But in terms of the church or in heritage site Majayjay can be on top because of the well-known St. Gregory the Great Parish Church. It is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. It has a remarkable history because it was rebuilt three times due to fire accident. The church has remained sturdy since the late 16th century regardless of the renovations happened.

E. Threat of New Entrants

Rural bank vs. other bank (high) There can be a threat of new entrance in terms of the support services in the municipality. There is only one rural bank found in the place, so if ever there is a new bank established in the place, it will definitely be a big help to the locals.
