FUTURE SIMPLE
 The simple future is used to talk about the
things which we cannot control. It expresses
the future as fact.
For Example:
3. We will know our exam results in May.
 We use this tense to talk about what we think
or believe will happen in the future.
For Example:
6. I think Pakistan will win the match.
7. I am sure he will get a first position.
FUTURE SIMPLE
 As in the above sentences, we often use this
tense with I think and I am sure. We also say I
expect____, I believe_____, Probably_____,
etc.
 We can use this tense when we decide to do
something at the time of speaking.
For Example:
4. It is raining. I will take an umbrella.
5. ‘Mr. Sinha is very busy at the moment.’— ‘All
right. I'll wait’.
FUTURE INTENTIONS
Formula
Subject + (am, is, are)+ GOING TO + BFV + Object
For Example
My mother is going to cook food.
Negative
Subject + (is, am , are) + NOT + GOING TO + BFV + O
For Example
He is not going to play cricket.
Interrogative
(Is, am , are) + Subject + Going to + BVF + O ?
For Example
Is he going to become a cricketer ?
FUTURE INTENTIONS
 We use the going to form when we have decided to do
something before talking about it.
For Example:
3. “Have you decided what to do ?”— “Yes. I am going to
resign the job”.
4. “Why do you want to sell your motorbike?” – “I am going
to buy a car.”
 We also use the going to form to talk about what seems
likely or certain, when there is something in the present
which tells us about the future.
For Example:
7. The boat is full of water. It is going to sink.
FUTURE INTENTIONS
 The going to form may also express an
action which is on the point of
happening.
For Example:
3. Let’s get into train. It’s going to leave.
4. Look! The cracker is going to explode.
FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
Formula
Subject + (will be, shall be)+ Base Form of Verb (ing) +Object
For Example
I will be leaving for Lahore on Monday.
Negative
Subject + (will/shall not be) + Base Form of Verb (ing) + Object.
For Example
She will not be joining us in English Language classes next month.
Interrogative
Will + Subject + be + BFV (ing) + Object ?
For Example
Will they be watching cricket match in stadium ?
FUTURE CONTINUOUS
 We use the Future Continuous Tense to talk about
actions which will be in progress at a time in the future.
For Example:
3. I suppose it will be raining when we start.
4. This time tomorrow I will be sitting on the beach in
Singapore.
 We also use this tense to talk about actions in the future
which are already planned or which are expected to
happen in the normal course of things.
For Example:
7. I will be staying here till Sunday.
8. The post man will be coming soon.
FUTURE PERFECT

Subject + (will have, shall have) + Past Participle + O
For Example
My team will have played the match.
Negative
Subject + (will/shall not have)+ Past Participle + O
For Example
He will not have gone there.
Interrogative
(Will/Shall) +Subject + Have + Past Participle + O ?

Will they have come earlier ?
FUTURE PERFECT
 The Future Perfect Tense is used to talk
about actions that will be completed by a
certain future time.
For Example:
3. I shall have written my exercise by then.
4. He will have left before you go to see
him.
5. By the end of this month I will have
worked here for five years.
FUTURE PERFECT
CONTINUOUS

Subject + (will/shall have been ) + BFV (ing) + Since/For +

For Example
My team will have been playing the match for six hours.
Negative
Subject + (will/shall not have been)+ BFV (ing) + Since/For

He will not have been living for several years in UK.

Will they have been singing a song for five minutes ?
FUTURE PERFECT
CONTINUOUS
 The Future Perfect Continuous tense is
used for actions which will be in progress
over a period of time that will end in the
future.
For Example:
3. By next March we shall have been living
here for four years.
4. I’ll have been teaching for twenty years
next July.
