NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP & SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (NIESBUD)


NIESBUD is an Apex Institute in the area of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Government of India. The basic objects for which the Institute has been established are: Promotion and Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises including Enhancement of their Competitiveness through Various Activities.

FUNCTIONS OF NIESBUD

Developing effective training strategies & mythology. Deciding standard model syllabus training. Formulating scientific selection procedures. Developing tools aids, manuals & tools. Conducting EDP for executive, women, S.C. &S.T Developing entrepreneurial culture in the society.

Small Industries Development Bank Of India (SIDBI)


Small Industries Development Bank of India is an independent financial institution aimed to aid the growth and development of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSME) in India. Set up on April 2, 1990 through an act of parliament, it was incorporated initially as a wholly owned subsidiary of Industrial Development Bank of India. Current shareholding is widely spread among various state-owned banks, insurance companies and financial institutions

Functions Of SIDBI

To initiate steps for technological up gradation & modernization of existing units. To expand the channel of marketing the product of SSI sector in domestic & international market. To promote employment oriented industries in semi-urban area to create more employment. To refinance loans & advances extended by the primary lending institution of SSI units & provide recourses to trainees. To provide services like leasing ,factoring etc.

Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO)


Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) an apex body at Central level for formulating policy for the development of Small Scale Industries in the country, is headed by the Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (Small Scale Industries) under Ministry of Small Scale Industries Govt. of India. SIDO is playing a very constructive role for strengthening this vital sector which has proved to be one of the strong pillars of the economy of the country. It functions through a network of the field offices namely 30 SISIs, 28 Br. SISIs, 4 RTCs, 7 FTSs, various training and production centers and specialized institutes spread over different parts of the country.

Functions of SIDO

Advising the Govt. in policy matters concerning small scale sector. Providing techno-economic and managerial consultancy, common facilities and extension services. Providing facilities for technology up-gradation, modernization quality improvement & infrastructure. Human resources development through training and skill up-gradation. Providing economic information services.

Small Industries Service Institute (SISIs)


The small industries service institutes (SISIs) are set-up one in each state to provide consultancy and training to small and prospective entrepreneurs. The activities of SISs are co-ordinate by the industrial management training division of the DC, SSI office (New Delhi). In all there are 28 SISIs and 30 Branch SISIs set up in state capitals and other places all over the country.

Functions of SISI

Conducting EDPs all over the country; To advise the Central and State governments on policy matters relating to small industry development; To assist in testing of raw materials and products of SSIs, their inspection and quality control; To provide market information to the SISIs; Organize seminars, Workshops and Industries Clinics for the benefit of entrepreneurs

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)


The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) was set up in 1955 as a central government undertaking, the main aim of which is to fulfill the requirement of machinery and equipment for the development of the small entrepreneurs. NSIC is established to cater to this need of the entrepreneur. NSIC provides plant, machinery and equipment on a hire-purchase basis. Under its special scheme, entrepreneurs can procure indigenous as well as imported machinery.

Functions of NSIC

Provides financial assistance by way of hirepurchase scheme for purchase of machinery and equipment, required for the setting up industries. Provides various equipments on lease basis. Assists in marketing of the products of SSIs. Helps in exporting the product of SSIs. Provides training to workers of SSIs in various trades.
