Ang Susunod Na Eksena Ay Di Angkop Sa Patnubay NG Ay Kailangan

The document provides an overview of how telephones work including the basic parts like the transmitter that converts sound to electric signals, the receiver that converts electric signals back to sound, and the dialing mechanism used to connect calls; it also shows how telephone networks direct calls from the transmitting phone to the receiving phone by routing the electric signals through the network. The document is presented as a story with scenes that switch between explaining telephone parts and functions to a romantic storyline.

Basic Operation
How the Telephone Works
Four main parts:
1.Transmitter (Microphone)
2. Receiver (Speaker)
3. Hook Switch
4. Dialing mechanism (Keypad)

1. Transmitter

The Transmitter is often called as microphone.

It converts the sound waves of a person's voice into

an electric current and sends this current farther into
the telephone network.

Two main kinds of telephone

transmitters:

2. Carbon chamber – Contains tiny grains of carbon.

When pressure is exerted

to the carbon grains,
electric current is produced.

The electric "copy" of the speaker's voice

travels through the wire
farther into the telephone network
Then the telephone network directs
it until it reaches the receiver.

The receiver is often called the

speaker.
It converts electric current to sound.
So the electric copy of the speaker’s
voice will turn back to the

3. Hook Switch

The hook switch connects and disconnects

the phone from the network.

When you lift the phone,

the hook switch connects to the network
and enables you to call.

When you put down the phone,

the hook switch disconnects to the network
and enables you to receive a call.

4. Dialing mechanism

The dialing mechanism consists of a set of buttons called

a keypad.

A keypad has digits 0 - 9, also

* and # key.
ow the Telephone Works

How does a keypad work?

A keypad has keys or buttons.
Each key generates a pair of accurately controlled tones
from combination of frequencies.

Each key also generates Example of the

a certain number of electric pulses.

The number of electric pulses

are then used by the computers

TRIVIA
Did you know?

You can dial even without the dialing mechanism!

Yes!
Very easy!

By rapidly tapping the hook switch!

If you pick up the phone and rapidly tap

the switch hook four times, the
phone company will recognize that
you have dialed a "4“ !

Likewise for other numbers.

This dialing is called Pulse Dialing.

Just try it at home!
