Literacy is crucial for successful development of each individual. The vocabulary which is consisted of the words that a deaf student knows and actively uses, should be upgraded, improved, enlarged and changed not only while studying but lifelong.

Integrating the new technologies into schools and their use by the students greatly influences the process of learning and acquiring knowledge. Computers are important and powerful tool.

With the newest government project " Computer for each child " the schools in Republic of Macedonia have the opportunity of adopting the world's course in the use of Information and Communication Technology in education.

Today teaching deaf children without use of the computers in our school is almost unimaginable.

Our presentation is consisted of examples of teaching strategies and methods that we've been using in the process of teaching at Information Technology Class, Technologies and Processing Class and Macedonian Language and Literature Class.

When you use ICT in teaching, you use the visuals ( such as animation, video clips, etc.) which gives difference and contemporaries to teaching, it motivates the students, it increases communication, it gives full revision and comprehension, as well as longer retention of real knowledge in memory.

When near technology while learning, students with hearing loss get independent, it gives them self-confidence, it motivates them to read, write, and it initiates communication.

The technology used in the classroom depends on teachers choice, but also on the teaching material.

A real teacher always seeks new methods of teaching. Teaching deaf students with integration of technology can be greatly beneficial.

Next to the traditional alphabet literacy, the 21st century student needs to acquire information literacy (ability to use the information adequately)

Here are some of the methods we use in our school to improve students literacy, both alphabetical and informational.
