Microsoft Surface is a new type of computer device unveiled in 2007 that uses a multi-touch screen as an interface instead of a keyboard and mouse. SURFACE is a hole new category of computer device. It is near to same computer as the our PC , Laptop ,Pamtom . Invention by Microsoft Group. It was announced on May 29, 2007

It has at least a 25-year history, beginning in 1982, with pioneering work being done at the University of Toronto (multi-touch tablets) and Bell Labs (multi-touch screens). The product idea for Surface was initially conceptualized in 2001 by Steven Bathiche of Microsoft Hardware and Andy Wilson of Microsoft Research. 2001. key members of the team , bring the idea to the next stage of development In 2003.
And they presented the idea to the Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

Later, the virtual team was expanded and a prototype nicknamed T1 was produced within a month. The team also developed some applications, including pinball, a photo browser and a video puzzle. The final hardware design was completed in 2005. Surface was unveiled by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on May 30, 2007, at The Digital conference in Carlsbad, California.

A concept of multitouch first used in


the 2002 science fiction Hollywood movie Minority Report and in the 2005 another science fiction

movie The Island, by Sean Bean's character "Merrick.


In also Hindi film krrish the another science fiction movie. It was director Michael Bay stated the concept of the device came from consultation with Microsoft during the making of the movie

It is a computer with different look and feel. Surface do not have any keyboard or mouse. This uses a multitouch screen as user interface. Change an ordinary table top into a vibrant , interactive surface. 30-inch surface. Able to recognize actual unique objects that have barcode.

Microsoft debuted may 3,2007. Now it is only available in restaurants, hotels, retail and public entertainment venues. Will transfer the people shop, dine, entertain and live.

Surface is first Microsoft windows vista packed tucked inside a table, topped with a 30-inch reflective surface in a clear acrylic frame.
Surface is 30 inches display in a table. It turns ordinary tabletop into a vibrant and interactive surface. surface can recognize 52 touches and dozen of movement like gesture and actual moving objects. Surface is first use to commercial purpose and then they can use in private users.

Microsoft notes four main components being important in Surface's interface: direct interaction, multi-touch contact, a multi-user experience, and object recognition.

Direct interaction with the system , without the need for a mouse or keyboard, its make simple for the user to apply. The technology allows non-digital objects to be used as input devices. In one example, a normal paint brush was used to create a digital painting in the software. This is made possible by the fact that, in using cameras for input
