Vision/Mission: Quench your thirst, SIP! Serve, Involve, Protect We will serve the students by providing activities to ensure their welfare and well-being, will be involved in their needs to have a break from their academic load, and will advocate defending and protecting their rights to organize as a college. Likewise, we would challenge the CSSP students to serve in the form of volunteerism, to be involved in the college and the college activities and to protect their rights as students and as a college. Thrust: To provide venues for CSSP students to foster a holistic development through special events and upholding student welfare issues and advocacies

Projects: I. Pahinungod: Summer Edition Description: Arts and dance workshops were held during the summer for kids. Encourage and provide venue for student volunteerism this summer Provide an avenue for children to have fun this summer - Art workshop: facilitator: Vino Morales, Mark Sanchez, Mhawi Rosero - Dance workshop: VolCorps Were the objectives met? Description: To convene a new Sulo EdBoard To be in charge of the Photo Studios Have close connections with Mandala Make Sulo an official organization for graduating students This summer, the STRAW Committee wishes to convene a new Sulo EdBoard that they can work closely with regarding yearbook matters. GrASP (Grievances Assessment of Services and Programs) Description: To uphold students right for speech and to ask for their suggestions, expectations and assessment of the previous council Productivity and over-all performance are very important in delivering the activities, services and campaigns that we as the CSSP Student Council aim to. In order to maintain an outstanding standard of such, we in STRAW will conduct assessment and evaluation activities called GAME Time. GAME Time will be conducted every after a semester is over. It will serve as our gauge in order for us to improve in whatever way in the next semester/s. Were the objectives met? Yes Actual Audience vs. Target Audience (if applicable): CSSP

Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 7 CSSP Freshman Welcome Assembly Description: To welcome our CSSP freshies, and be able to give them an idea of the ins and outs of UP and of CSSP. To be able to inform our freshies of what they should expect in their stay in UP, in CSSP, and in their departments. To instill in them the CSSP spirit, and to make them feel that being part of the college and part of their own specific disciplines is something that they should be proud of. Were the objectives met? Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 7 CSSP VARSITY Description: To convene the varsity team captains To start IGPs for financial assistance in trainings

CSSP Varsity Teams work and play hard to represent CSSP in the Diliman games but despite all the effort they still have to shoulder all the expenses for their training sessions and uniforms. This semester, a convention for all the CSSP Varsity Team captains will be held to discuss training and financial matters. The council and all CSSP Varsity teams will participate in IGPs for financial assistance.

Points for Improvement: More audience next year Really work hard to get financial aid Anticipate games so we teams can train earlier e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 6 It was really hard not having financial aid for the teams from the administration or even from external sources. Freshie Circle a. Description: The Freshie Circle is the prime venue for freshmen students of the College of Social Science and Philosophy to have a company and a support group within the college. Through the Freshie Circle, the freshies will meet new friends both from their discipline and other disciplines as well. Since the freshmen have similar experiences, this would be a good venue for them to seek help and company from, and eventually build lasting friendly relationships. The circle would also engage the freshmen to participate in the college activities and establish leadership and cooperation among the organizations committees. The freshies would be divided into committees of their choice. They would be given 3 choices (ranked according to preference) and the STRAW committee would deliberate and assign them on their committees. The freshie circle would meet again to elect their executive committee and their committee heads. The circle would be an individual entity but still under the supervision and guidance of the STRAW committee. Our CSSP freshies will have a headstart as the STRAW Committee will convene all blockheads and even individual members who are interested so that they can get to know more people not only in their course but also in the college and work together regarding batch activities and projects.

To provide a support group for the CSSP Freshmen since they are new to the college To engage the Freshies and make them participate in college activities To convene the incoming freshies for school year 20102011 Were the objectives met? Yes b. Actual Audience vs. Target Audience (if applicable): Not all freshies were reached out to but still a number of them were able to participate in the activities. c. Date & Venue (if applicable): d. Postive Points of the Project: The freshmen were more active this year Elections The ExeComm was trained and empowered e. Points for Improvement: Workshops before we give them autonomy Publicity Find a way to reach more freshmen f. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 9 BIBOLYMPICS a. Description: An amazing race inspired activity for the freshie blocks to bond among them and develop friendly competition with the other departments. The 14 freshie blocks from Anthropology (1), Geography (1), History (1), Linguistics (1), Philosophy (1), Political Science (4), Psychology (4), and Sociology (1) would race to finish passing through several stations around the UP Diliman Campus. There will be a total of eight stations on selected spots/buildings around the campus with different tasks to be done related to a discipline in CSSP. They have to accomplish each task to get to their next station. Once the task is completed, the station manager will give the team a puzzle piece and a clue that would lead them to their next station/destination. To make a venue for the freshies to bond with their blockmates and block handlers. To introduce the different disciplines of the College of Social Science and Philosophy to the freshies.

Positive Points of the Project: A lot of freshies came even those not joining the actual race The freshies had fun There were a lot of volunteers d. Points for Improvement: Find a way to ensure safety of freshies more like giving a chaperone per group, etc.

KAPPwa: Saving Lives by Donating Blood a. Description: The Quezon City General Hospital has a lot of patients in need of blood. We opened this venue here in UP so that those people who want to donate blood to those people in need can. Were the objectives met? Yes. Actual Audience vs. Target Audience (if applicable): Target was 40. We got more than the target. b. Date & Venue (if applicable): September 7, 2010, AS Alcove. c. Postive Points of the Project: A lot of people donated They were very happy with the free key chains d. Points for Improvement: Try to anticipate blood drive schedules of other orgs e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 10 Office Awareness a. Description: A simple but interesting program shall serve as the launch of the entire campaign. The offices will be introduced in many ways such as print, media and online as much and as diverse as possible. An example of which is a bookmark given at the launch as a souvenir, containing important information regarding the offices. (i.e. contact information, etc.)

communicating whatever concerns they have for them and vice versa. These will be done through regular announcements (include objectives, means, and speakers if there are any) To publicize the existence, composition and functions of the different offices of the college and university.

Postive Points of the Project: A lot of people were attracted to the design of the exhibit so they checked it out. A lot of people manifested that they were happy with this activity because they dont know about these offices d. Points for Improvement: Flyers or bookmarks should have been given for more publicity of these offices There should have been a list that was posted somewhere in AS for the whole year.

Description: STRAW has designated two council members to handle graduate students concerns, as well as set liaisons for them to make the council services more accessible to them. They will constitute the Grad Core that will make the CSSPSC more accessible to the graduate students. To project an image to the graduate students that the CSSPSC also caters to their needs To be able to relay the councils campaigns, services, and activities to the graduate students in CSSP

Postive Points of the Project: The graduate students were very glad that we were reaching out to them They have been more participative availing of the councils services, participating in campaigns and activities. d. Points for Improvement: Timing; be very aware of the schedule of the graduate students because they have long research breaks. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 8 World KAPP: KAPPalakasan 2010 a. Description: TheKAPPalakasan is one of the institutionalized activities and one of the most awaited activities in CSSP. This year, the theme was World KAPP inspired by the World Cup. Each department had their own country names Anthropology as ANTHROmeda, Geography as GEOGanda, History as KASakhstan, Linguistics as PiLINGpinas, Philosophy as PHILOppines, Political Science as POLSCIberia, Psychology as PSYCHOslovakia and Sociology as SOCIOstan. The main goal of this project was to foster camaraderie among the CSSP students and to bridge the different departments. This was also the first year where a Cheerdance competition was held, because of this, some departments have already established their dance crews.

A lot of activities were introduced at this years KAPPalakasan. A lot of people participated d. Points for Improvement: Council can probably create an Adhoc Committee for KAPPalakasan because its really hard for a single committee to handle everything, given that at this time, STRAW also had other projects. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 9 CSSP Org Fiesta! Description: To introduce the several organizations to all CSSP and UP students To raise awareness on organizations functions, relevance, importance, achievements and goals There were 14 organization who participated and provided interactive booths to showcase their organizations culture. Postive Points of the Project: A lot of people enjoyed the booths The orgs were able to publicize certain information about them. d. Points for Improvement: Find a way how to invite more non-affiliated people to try the interactive booths. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 9 Student Activism Celebration Description: familiarize the audience with the efforts of the students during the 70s to fight for students rights and the efforts of our current leaders to enact a law to further institutionalize these rights

Description: The Bill of Rights training with the USCs SLAAC Committee To acquaint CSSP students with the Bill of Rights.

Postive Points of the Project: We got to require the orgs because it was for ACLE We were able to invite Representative Walden Bello as a speaker d. Points for Improvement: Invite more CSSP students Make it a campaign. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 8 KAPPaskuhan 2010: Himig at Hataw a. Description: An annual chorale competition in CSSP of different orgs/groups who would represent the college in the University Karolfest. There were also performances from the council, different performing groups and the faculty. Were the objectives met? Yes Actual Audience vs. Target Audience (if applicable): Met b. Date & Venue (if applicable): Dec 10, 2010, AS Lobby c. Postive Points of the Project: A lot of people attended and enjoyed The performances were awesome d. Points for Improvement: Involve more groups/chorales from more departments. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 10 Parolfest a. Description: to foster environmentalism and the Christmas spirit to different orgs and individuals through parol-making. Postive Points of the Project: Although done for the first time this year, a lot of people liked the idea and participated Some professors required their students to make parols d. Points for Improvement: More publicity and involve even other sectors of CSSP e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 8 Safer AS Campaign Description: Palma Hall would be assessed and things needed would be identified and acted upon. There was also a forum Ingat KAPP! Where the audience were taught how to ensure safety not just as individuals but even safety of the building.

Date & Venue (if applicable): Dec 19, 2011. c. Postive Points of the Project: The kids enjoyed the program and were very grateful for the giveaways d. Points for Improvement: More participation from the council and volcorps. e. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 7 KAPPwa: Saving Lives by Donating Blood II a. Postive Points of the Project: A lot of people donated d. Points for Improvement: More publicity Anticipate other orgs blood drives schedule e. Description: To inform and involve the students with regards to the Office of the Student Regent and the Codified Rules for Student Regent Selection. The orgs and core groups were consulted regarding their stands on the said document. A public GA was held to present the position papers of the different orgs/groups/individuals regarding this matter. Were the objectives met? 9 OSA Guidelines a. Description: A taskforce composed of the STRAW Committee and different volunteer orgs would draft the new guidelines for the Office of Student Affairs of CSSP. Overall rating from 1 (problematic) to 10 (successful) 10 Budget Cut a. Description: A campaign that informed and involved students regarding the crisis the university was facing. Postive Points of the Project: We were able to release primers and a statement regarding the matter. We were able to lobby in the Congress and in the Senate. We were able to mobilize outside the House of Representatives as student representatives; sending a message that the students are not in favor of this said cut.
