COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In this course, the students will become familiar with the different phases of information systems development. Discussions will concentrate on the initiation, analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of a system and the different tools used in systems analysis and design. This course strikes a balance between the theoretical and applied aspects of systems analysis, presenting state-of-the-art systems, procedures, methodology and software. These skills are applied by allowing students to experience analyzing and designing a live system for a target client. (Pre-requisite Subject: Third Year Standing) 3 units (Lecture 2 units; Lab 1 unit) Ninety (90) Hours BSIT 3rd Year Standing General Objectives At the end of the course, the students are expected to: To learn and demonstrate an understanding of systems analysis and design principles, concepts, and evaluation. The student will be able to use system analysis and design models to determine and specify information systems requirements and propose an information technology (IT) architecture for a real organization. To work effectively in team to specify the requirements and design of an information system. To orally present the results of a systems analysis and design project to target client.
