Daily Lesson Plan

Subject: Music lesson Class: 6 Anggun No. of Student: 30 Time: 8.20 am 9.20 am (1 hour) Title: Melody (high pitch and low pitch) Learning outcomes: By the end of lesson pupils able to, 1. State 4 sounds of vehicles that related to high pitch and low pitch correctly from 5 vehicles sounds given. 2. Identify the high and low pitch according to score sheets given.
Item Induction set (5 minutes) Content and activities Listen to the sound of vehicles (audio sound). Play the keyboard. Low tone and high tone, to represent the high and low pitch. Student response Teacher plays the sounds of vehicles and asks students to listen carefully and state the name of the vehicles. Teacher explains to student what the meaning of a pitch in a melody is. Teacher relates the sounds of vehicles by types of pitch in music. Example: a) high pitch = ambulance siren b) low pitch = sound of lorry Learning outcomes Student response by listening the types of vehicles to the sounds played by the teacher. Student response by naming types of vehicles to the sounds played by the teacher. Remarks Teacher use the CD audio and keyboard to conduct the lesson.

Step 1 (10 minutes)

Appreciation activities. good nice try almost correct

Student identifies the pitch by trying to relate the vehicles sounds with the pitch (high / low pitch).

Step 2 (15 minutes)

Play the keyboard. Low tone and high tone, to represent the high and low pitch. Teacher plays the high pitch not (C) and low pitch not (C) on the keyboard. Example: C high not and C low not. Body movement student move according to the music played by the teacher

Students imitate the pitch by sounding (Do) in low pitch and (do) in high pitch. Students imitate the pitch by sounding (Do) in low pitch and (do) in high pitch. student able to recognise and moved according to the pitch in the music : Sitting down- low pitch Standing up high pitch Student will identify the pitch going up and going down with teachers guidance according to the notes in the staff. A student identifies the low and high pitch in the music score and sings the sol-fa. Students identify the score sheets which the part of high pitch and low pitch. Step 3 (15 minutes)

Teacher writes the notes DO, RE, MI, FA, SO in the staff. Teacher explains the position of the notes written in the staff and how it related with pitch. Teacher shows a simple music score to student.

Step 4 (10 minutes) Closing (5 minutes)

Teacher distributes the score sheets to the students and identifies the parts of high pitch and low pitch. Teacher asks the student what they have learnt throughout the lesson.
