ABOUT NDC 2012

It is now timely for Malaysia to commit to digitally transforming the government and enterprises in ways that will benefit the country and the rakyat. Over the past 15 years, a range of initiatives have been put in place in a bid to leapfrog into the Information Age. The initial plans and programs have built a platform for the emergence of the domestic industry which have catalysed large investments, spurred R&D and promoted the widespread adoption of technology among government, businesses and society. Similarly, many of these initiatives have been instrumental in bringing great value in enhancing efficiency of the public sector service delivery which currently is encoded in the various Government Transformation Initiatives. Rapid advances in digital and online technology have created a new world order that is constantly reinventing our way of life. As such, there are new initiatives over and above current plans and programs that should exploit the dynamic opportunities powered by the Digital Age. Therefore, the governments digital transformation momentum can be further accelerated by capitalising and leveraging on these technologies. The National Digital Conference (NDC), formerly known as the National ICT Conference (NICT) is a national level initiative which is run against the backdrop of various national ICT initiatives and rapid development of digitally-enabled business solutions. The NDC 2012 is a platform to discuss and share ideas and strategies in enhancing the productivity and efficiency via digital technologies and applications; promoting innovation and creativity in public service delivery by adapting national transformation initiatives and forging synergistic alliance between ICT industries in the digital sphere. The conference will stimulate thought provoking topics to be laid out by renowned speakers and encourage open interaction and collaboration between the government and the ICT industry as a whole. The conference supports the governments digital transformation agenda and intends to add momentum to existing initiatives besides creating a forum for information sharing and networking.
